Job Description

February S.T.E.A.M. Camp Elementary School Enrichment Specialists provide extended learning opportunities for students beyond the school year through hands-on, project based instruction. Enrichment Specialists assist teachers in facilitating learning sessions that promote student engagement, collaboration and academic growth in S.T.E.A.M. content areas. Assignments delegated to Enrichment Specialists vary and may include duties of limited scope such as supporting students with assigned tasks and assisting teachers with instructional and operational (non-instructional) responsibilities.

The Enrichment Specialist Roles and Responsibilities include the following:

• Support certified teachers during S.T.E.A.M instruction and enrichment activities.
   
• Assist with preparation, facilitation and clean up of hands on, project based learning activities.
   
• Support student engagement during academic style sessions.
   
• Reinforce program expectations, routines and PBIS principles.
   
• Provide supervision and support for students during breakfast, snack and lunch.
   
• Assist with monitoring student attendance and transitions between activities.
   
• Support positive behavior and document concerns as directed by supervising staff.
   
• Provide additional student support as needed to ensure access and participation.
   
• Support student engagement during instructional and enrichment activities.
   
• Collaborate with Teacher Leaders, Teachers, Parent Liaisons and Community School Coordinators.
   
• Commit to all four days of February S.T.E.A.M Camp programming. Participate in mandatory training sessions.
   
• Complete other duties as assigned.

 

SALARY: $18.54/hour or Paraprofessional/TA contractual rate up to Step 10

LOCATION: Multiple (Van Corlaer, Paige & Yates Elementary School)

QUALIFICATIONS: Schenectady City School District Paraprofessional or Teacher’s Assistant position
