Job Description

Transitional Comprehensive Mentors for Freshman ONLY - 6 positions Virtual or In Person;

This position reports to NY GEAR UP Team Coordinators and Office of Innovation, Equity, and Engagement. This position supports the NY GEAR UP Grant initiatives that are aimed to support the 9th grade cohort as they transition to Schenectady High School and Early College High School. Mentoring goals: Executive functioning, tutoring, organization, social emotional, counseling, time management, financial literacy, listening skills, note taking. Our mentor training sessions will provide an activities library to fit the needs for each mentor/mentee.

GEAR UP Transitional Comprehensive Mentor Expectations

? Committed virtual or in person office hours

? Keep accurate attendance with time of contact

? Keep accurate records of target/skill: example - SEL, CCR, Financial Literacy, etc…

? Complete mentor training online (30$/hr for training)
